This award is bestowed on the University of Melbourne student who is the 1st year dux in the Master of Art Curatorship programme. This year's recipient is Debbie Robinson. Cultural Connotations is pleased to present this award to reward and encourage students in the museum field. It is presented annually.

Cultural Connotations has recently prepared a significance assessment for the Warrnambool Mechanics Institute book and document collection. Whilst there were many Institutes in Victoria's early history, very few collections survive. Its contents provide a link to understanding how the early colonists strove to develop themselves and their new country. The material is part of the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum collection. |
