This prestigious exhibition brought over 350 objects to Victoria from one from of Europe's major antiquities museums.

The objects spanned over 4,000 years of Egyptian history and included sarcophagi, mummies, large statues, grave goods and the trappings of daily life such as beautiful jewellery and personal items. Public programmes included the Egypt Alive Saturday Workshops, Ancient Tales on Sunday, Dig It Kid's Activities and the Land of the Pharaohs Activities Room.
This major event from the Netherlands achieved an injection of $1 million to the city of Geelong (Price WaterhouseCoopers Economic Impact Study 1999) staff from cultural connotations was engaged to - negotiate and manage all logistical arrangements for the Victorian leg of the tour
